MET Live in HD Kickoff Breakfast and Preview Talk

The Taos Center for the Arts and the Taos Opera Guild are partnering to offer a special morning for opera fans and those new to opera before season opener, Aida, in the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD 2018-2019 series.

Doors will open at 9:00 am so that audience members may enjoy a continental breakfast together and then experience a FREE opera preview talk at 9:45 am. Breakfast items including pastries and coffee will be available to purchase from Koko’s, Taos’ favorite coffee shop/deli/catering company from 9-9:45am.

 The 15-20 minute opera preview talk has been a popular program of the Taos Opera Guild over the years, and the Guild is delighted to open it to a broader audience. The preview, delivered by Taos Opera Guild co-President, Nancy Schultz, is an ideal introduction to the history of the opera, the current production and provides an opportunity to ask questions.  This would be the perfect primer for an opera novice, so all who are interested are encouraged to come for breakfast, the preview or both!

After the preview talk, there will be plenty of time to buy tickets at the box office and choose your favorite seat for the 11:00 am simulcast.
