MET Live: La Fanciulla Del West

Prior to the live production in HD at the Taos Center for the Arts, the Taos Opera Guild will host a Preview Breakfast at Doc Martin's restaurant in the Taos Inn.   After enjoying a Doc Martin's breakfast at your own expense, there will be a preview talk.  The preview, delivered by Claire Detels, is an ideal introduction to the history of the opera, the current production and provides an opportunity to ask questions.  This would be the perfect primer for an opera novice, so all who are interested are encouraged to come for breakfast, the preview or both!

Soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek sings Puccini’s gun-slinging heroine in this romantic epic of the Wild West, with the heralded return of tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the role of the outlaw she loves. Tenor Yusif Eyvazov also sings some performances. Baritone Željko Lučić is the vigilante sheriff Jack Rance, and Marco Armiliato conducts.
