Hello Taos opera fans. At long last the Taos Opera Guild is able to invite you to a celebration dinner and introduction to our 21-22 season. Many of you may be familiar with the Donabe Asian Restaurant on Paseo near the Plaza. We have arranged with Chef Marshall to reserve the entire restaurant for an Asian feast on Thursday November 18th, seating at 5 PM. The following are the menu choices:
Appetizer: choice of 1
Zucchini boat stuffed with dates, szechuan chili, and panko with a fermented black bean sauce or
House cured bacon wrapped haricot vert and adzuki bean cake with passion fruit pearls
Main: choice of 1
Roasted Mary's chicken breast and drum, sake and orange blossom poached chicken liver skewers, ponzu sauce, and tempura lotus root. White rice on the side.
Thai chili-honey wagyu beef with fresh house made egg noodles in pho broth, scallion, corn, and sweet peas.
Spring onion , ginger, and shitakke stuffed cod filet in roasted green chili coconut cream, with yellow curry fried rice on side.
Dessert
Coconut cream brulee
Donabe now serves beer, sake, wine, and all spirits, and will have a wine special available to our guests.
The cost for each dinner selection will be approximately $40.00. Drinks ,of course, will be in addition.
